Ask and You Shall Receive: 250 New Emojis May Come to iOS
Well folks look no further, we may just see brand new emojis in Apple\'s upcoming iOS 8 which is set to land sometime this Fall. Thanks to the Unicode Consortium\'s brand new version 7.0 of the Unicode Standard that recently was announced, they have added a total of 250 new emojis ranging from a squirrel and bird all the way to the Spock hand (Vulcan salute) and what appears to be a tornado to the "official" list of Unicode symbols. From the Consortium\'s announcement, these new emojis are mostly derived from characters used in the Wingdings and Webdings fonts. On the other hand though, The Verge has reported that Apple will have to create their own pictographs (or images) to represent each added emoji in version 7.0. Among the most popular of these is probably the long-awaited "Reversed Hand With Middle Finger Extended", allowing people to finally demonstrate some real frustration or anger through the endless Snapchats and iMessages sent every day.
