Apple to launch 200 limited edition iPhones... in pink!

lundi 6 octobre 2014

The iPhone 6 worldwide launch is still going strong across regions, with China and India about to join the fray on October 17th as well. With its sales blooming, it's hard to call Apple's latest handset anything other than “successful”. Apparently, the Cupertinians find it to be so successful that they decided to launch a limited edition of the iPhone 6. “What's so special about it?”, you may ask; well – it's pink.

According to a report from Chinese website Princeblog, Apple will be launching 200 units of its new gen flagship. The information is a bit scarce and garbled, but it seems like the handset may be available globally (it is more likely that only certain VIPs will have the opportunity to purchase it, we assume). Thankfully, there was a Mr. Grainycam on-set when the pink iPhone made its first appearance, so we can catch a glimpse of what the limited edition phone looks like, as well as what accessories it comes with.

One of the pictures reveals two handsets in pink and they seem to be the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Next to them is a golden card that says “Romance Pink” on the bottom – we assume that's Apple's name for the limited finish. Design-wise – there is nothing new, or changed. It pretty much looks like the silver (white) iPhone 6, with its back painted pink, naturally. It seems that the limited handset package will include a pretty wooden box, housing the phone, a set of Apple EarPods, a wall-charger, and a pink leather pouch for the phone.

There is no info on pricing, though we'll go out on a limb here and assume it's in the neighborhood of “An arm, a leg, and a kidney”. Availability is also a mystery.
