Apple Enables Two-Step Verification for iMessage and FaceTime

Last fall, iCloud went through a major nude celebrity leak. Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that the company will be doubling down on security, something Apple is known for doing. The Guardian reported on Thursday that Apple will be enabling two-step verification for iMessage and FaceTime. For those unfamiliar with the concept, two-step verification adds an extra layer of protection for various website, including Apple. It requires users to input authentication codes when logging into iCloud on new devices, the web, and now iMessage and FaceTime. The company first enabled two-step verification for Apple ID\'s back in 2013. But this ultimately failed with iCloud logins. We highly recommend everybody enable two-step verification on all of their services.

Easily Make It on TV with FaceTime [Just A Tip]

Are you a FaceTime junky? My wife and I recently had our first child and FaceTime has officially become the way my family likes to communicate long distance with us. This amazing feature we’ve been able to use on our iPhone and iPad’s for years now has really helped people stay connected over long distances. There’s a way to make your next FaceTime session even better. In most cases, your screen will be just enough space to FaceTime with a friend or family member. For those cases when it isn’t, like we’ve been experiencing lately, there’s a feature you can use to get more people in the frame and save your arm from tiring after continually panning the room to get everyone in the shot. There is a catch though, you need Apple TV ($99). To use this feature, initiate a FaceTime call as you normally would and then swipe up from the bottom of the screen on your device to access the iOS 7 Control Center. From here select the AirPlay option and select the device you wish to connect to. In order to view your FaceTime call on your television, you must enable AirPlay Mirroring on your Apple TV. Move your iPhone or iPad to an optimal position above or below your television so the caller can see everyone. If you’re unable to place your device above or below the television, try to get it as near to it as possible so it appears everyone is looking at or near the device. If you don’t do this, it looks as though everyone is looking away from the caller, which just looks and feels awkward. There are so many features hidden in our iOS devices and you can spend days trying to discover new ones. Once you find those you like, it’s hard to imagine how you ever lived without a certain feature.
