Manhattan District Attorney Says Apple Products Attract Terroists
Some (very) outrageous claims by Manhattan\'s DA have been made about Apple\'s security mechanisms used in their products. Originally reported by 9to5Mac on Monday, Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. says the iPhone is the ideal communication tool for terrorists.

Apple has created a phone that is dark, that cannot be accessed by law enforcement even when a court has authorized us to look at its contents,” Vance warned on “The Cats Roundtable” show on WNYM/970 AM.

“That’s going to be the terrorists’ communication device of choice.”

It\'s no secret that the government wants to squeeze all of your phone calls and text messages out of your phone (read: NSA). But, it\'s not limited to the United States government, either. British prime minister David Cameron has previously went on record noting his support for banning all encrypted communication. Obviously these claims from Vance are far fetched -- each person is entitled to their own privacy whether its technology-related or private property. Huge round of applause to Apple for making a device that\'s secure and allowing people\'s conversations to remain private. With the NSA\'s constant over reach into personal privacy through tracking phone calls and logging text messages, this is important that Apple\'s iPhone and iMessage system remains this way. Let\'s hope they stick to their actions, however, we\'ll follow this story as more developers.

Apple Updates iMessage to Automatically Protect Passwords

While we don\'t typically cover breaking news here at PocletFullOfApps, this is something we could not resist. Just a few hours ago, we stumbled upon a hidden feature where Apple\'s popular iMessage system now has the ability to block passwords when sending them to your friend, family, or a contact. As of right now we\'re not exactly sure when or exactly why Apple implemented this new feature, however, it goes to show how security-focused Apple is in every way. To test this out, you must have iCloud enabled and synced with your Keychain.app on your Mac. For those who don\'t have a Mac or want to try this using other services, 1Password has teamed up with Apple as well. As a religious user of 1Password on Mac and iOS, this is something I have been waiting for a very long time.

"We are very happy to announce our collaboration with Apple to integrate 1Password even deeper into Mac and iOS for a much better, safer, and securer environment for all users", said Dave Karimov of 1Password in a press announcement earlier today.

From our tests, here is all the details below.

• Locations passwords are pulled from: Keychain.app, Remembered Passwords in Safari, iCloud, and 1Password.

Last but not least, you must remember to have iCloud enabled on any device you use with iMessage and you should be good from there on out. Apple\'s PR and Marketing Team decline to comment after contacting them.
